Drew’s Car Wash Blog

Straight answers about washing your car, from people who have been doing it in the Brazos Valley since 2004.

Drew’s has run car washes in Bryan and College Station for 22 years, through pollen season, road brine, summer heat and construction dust on every corridor in both cities. The posts here come out of that: what actually damages paint, how often a car in this climate needs washing, what the differences between wash types mean in practice, and whether a membership is worth it for how much you actually drive.

No filler and no sales pitch dressed up as advice. Where the honest answer is “it depends,” we say what it depends on. Where the honest answer is that you do not need the thing we sell, we say that too.

Wash Types and Technology

Touchless, soft-touch tunnel, self-serve — the differences matter more than most people realise, and the right choice depends on your vehicle and its finish more than your budget. These posts explain how each format works, what it does well, and where it falls short.

Paint Care and Maintenance

What road brine, oak pollen, bird residue and Texas sun actually do to a clear coat, and how often a vehicle in this climate needs washing to stay ahead of it. Includes the question every driver asks and few operators answer honestly: whether automatic car washes damage paint.

Memberships and Pricing

What a car wash costs, what an unlimited membership actually saves, and the break-even math on whether one makes sense for you. Including who should not buy one.

They can also convey emotions or ideas that are hard to put into words. Edit carefully before posting Once you’re happy with the text, put it aside for a day or two, and then re-read it. You’ll probably find a few things you want to add, and a couple more that you want to remove. Have a friend or colleague look it over to make sure there are no mistakes.
